Cactus BG

 

This is a BG I did for a ten 30 second cartoon I had to do for Digital painting class,

it had a pretty creapy feel to it considering the line I choose was a Simpsons quote,

 but in the end I kinda liked the look of it so here it

is separate from the movie.

Layout Line Work

 This is a more Alien Oriented BG, where these outsider aliens are coming into the city.

And this is a classic western showdown, in an empty western town

20 Second flash animation

The project was to take a line of dialog and make a character say it.

It involved building a functioning character, then giving it a walk cycle with antic and 

settle, doing a lip sync and acting, then doing a background with a foreground element.

And a diet coke? 6 second animation

 

A 6 second lipsync I had to do for my Animation class, it took about 3 weeks to animate (on top of my other work load) and about 3 weeks to do preliminary stuff for it (storyboard, record voice think up

an idea)

I wish I could change the line to "...and a diet shake?" at the end though haha

An inside joke between me and my friend Devin, that became an ongoing joke in my class, eventually leading me to paint this for my friend Charles (a huge Breaking Bad fan)

So over the break I wanted to make something for my lady friend, I went through a few ideas before settling on the coloured portrait (Similar to the Annie Wu style I've been trying out, I though of it when my friend Tara (another great artist) posted a self portrait: http://unintentionallyme.blogspot.com/2011/12/yet-another-self-portrait.html in a similar style

It's just coloured lines, with flats, a shade layer and effects layer for the shine and make up

You can really see the Annie Wu influence when it's just black lines.

This was my original idea, her as a cartoon watching Arrested Development while drinking tea in her pillow filled bed. I didn't frame this or the black and white portrait, but still showed her.  The only reason I didn't keep going with this was I wanted to try something new to me.
